I feel myself adjusting to my age. I like it when young people address me as sir.

Much Friday Pictures and Music

This is my office. I do my homework here. I write my little poems. I pray and meditate. Paul planted a delicate Japanese maple just outside my window. Just beyond the maple is a fifty year old Mountain Ash (tree) with clumps of orange berries that are glowing right now. The afternoon sun is hitting them and, well, the light and color is making me feel autumnal.

OMG. Here is Spencer. He rests on my chair with his down comforter. He is a three year old whippet.

Then, opposite the bookcase, is a credenza with more stuff. The Chinese Robe on the wall dates back to the early 19th century. The embroidery was done with a blind stitch--so called because the workers eventually went blind doing the work. The stitch was eventually made illegal. A great deal of the thread is real gold.

Look closely at this. It is a placard that the San Francisco Chronicle used as part of an ad campaign. The paper used these placards in their newspaper boxes just below the bin that held the day's paper. It shows a group of majorly buff guys (who worked out at the same gym I did) wearing their Calvin's and sailor caps, and kerchiefs. They're dancing on a float during a Gay Pride Parade. Like it says, "100% San Francisco."

Here's the music.

  1. Love Judy Garland. That song was one of my signature songs I could sing and dance to many years ago. In fact I have a special arrangement of it with my sheet music. Love the Chinese silk with the "forbidden stitch" hanging on the wall. I also have a piece of material my cousin gave me years ago, that has it in it. Interesting for sure. I will write more later but I am just getting home and going to bed after a long day with my son and family.
